I was born in Wichita, Kansas as the third of three triplet boys. I have three older sisters. I moved to Kansas City when I was five and have lived there ever since. I grew up in a household where the work load was spread evenly among all family members and there was no excuse for not getting your job done and done right. My parents were big believers in earning everything you have, and this has been instilled in me. I was passionate about school and sport growing up, focusing mostly on baseball. I spent many summer and fall weekends at the ball park in tournaments around the state. I always enjoyed being a part of a team, where working together and communicating are drivers of success.
I learned nearly everything I know from my parents and family. As a middle schooler, my brothers and I decided we had the perfect opportunity to start a small business. We pooled out money at age 10 and bought our first lawnmower. We started that first year mowing one lawn over a mile from our house. Although it was hard work with very little return that first summer, we learned to never do anything but our best. People began to see this, and over the next eight years, we grew our little one mower outfit into quite the enterprise, with multiple commercial mowers and trucks. Through this, I learned quite a bit about the business world, from the working with customers first hand, managing finances, performing upkeep on equipment, and the value of a hard day’s work. We continued to mow and landscape right up until the summer we split up, sold off the lawns and equipment, and separate directions pursuing different college goals.
I then left for Kansas State University, where I would study Construction Science and Management in the Department of Engineering. I found myself very passionate about construction and class, loving to be the person in charge of changing the skyline and putting roofs over people heads. I started my professional career early, starting an internship with a major construction firm in Kansas City after my freshman year at age 18. I continued to work on different projects and jobsites, feeling my way through the industry and the people who run it. I am now determined to work my way up quickly and manage my own project as soon as possible. I think that because of the people, business, and management skills I have learned growing up, I will be great in managing construction. I look forward to a long career constructing the future!

Tell me a little about yourself.
I am a Senior in Construction Science and Management at Kansas State
University. I am from Lenexa, Kansas and have 5 brothers and sisters.
How do you handle stressful situations?
I think stressful situations need to be broken down into smaller less
stressful situations. I like to write down what I know and analize each
piece.
Why do you want this position?
I love a challange. Construction requires quick, on your feet decisions
along with strong communication skills and proper organization. I like the
combination of all these skills and the challenges encountered.
What qualities do you feel a successful manager should have?
I think that strong and clear communication is essential to proper
management. People who work under you must be able to easily decipher what
you want them to do and how you want them to do it.
